In their first game on the road after a four game homestand, the New York Rangers fell in an unfortunate 6-3 loss against the Bruins.

At TD Garden on Saturday, Rangers' goaltender Igor Shesterkin made 18 saves for the Rangers (24-23-4). Despite Shesterkin's efforts the Blueshirts have now lost three in a row.

Let's breakdown exactly how the Rangers got their latest loss with four key takeaways from the matchup.

1. J.T. Miller's Homecoming

As announced Friday, Jan. 31st, Miller was traded to the New York Rangers by the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Filip Chytil,Victor Mancini and a first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. New York also acquired defenseman Erik Brannstrom. J.T. Miller’s return to the New York Rangers got off to a fast start when he scored two goals against the Bruins. His goals were significant in that it had been 2,533 days since his last tally with New York. Miller were No. 8 and started the game on the Rangers' top line.

Miller became the ninth player in NHL history to score multiple goals in the first game of his second or third stint with a franchise. Miller has points (3G-5A) in six of his last seven contests dating back to Jan. 18.

“It feels nice to chip in,” Miller said of his two goals postgame. “I’ve been pretty snakebit for most of the year, especially lately. I guess to see one go in is nice, and obviously first game back was a little extra special, for sure.”

2. Breadman's Team-High

Artemi Panarin tallied his 32nd assist of the season, giving him a team-high 53 points. Panarin — also known as "the Breadman" by Blueshirt fans — has points in five of his last six games (2G-4A) and 16 points in his last 17 games (6G-10A).

3. Brodzinski Cuts the Deficit

31-year-old Jonny Brodzinski tallied his seventh point of the season. He scored during the third period against Boston's Jeremy Swayman to make it 5-3.

Despite his goal, Boston would go on to tally another in the remaining nine minutes to finalize the score 6-3.
