The New York Rangers, as well as the rest of the the world, have flipped their calendar over to the month of December. That means, in just a few short weeks, Santa Claus is coming to town, and Christmas will be here.

As the Rangers faithful, what is on your Christmas list for this team? What are you hoping to see when the 2025-26 season comes to an end?

Let’s talk about it.

Wish for health

With the recent earth-shattering news of Adam Fox heading to injured reserve, now more than ever, you should be wishing for health. Fox joins a bunch of guys from this group that has had to sit out for an extended period. Especially Vincent Trocheck, who just got back a few games ago from being out for a while.

Fox’s injury stings on a couple of levels. Not only because he is this teams best defenseman, arguably their best skater on the ice at all times, but he was the anchor of this defensive unit. Vladislav Gavrikov was brought in to supplement Fox, Scott Morrow was traded for to learn from Fox. This blue line was created to give Fox the best possible chance to succeed.

Rangers fans should be putting an emphasis for a healthy duration of the 2025-26 season.

Wish for wins

This Rangers squad has to keep on winning. That is painfully obvious, but it has not come easy for this team. Focusing on the home-ice aspect, the Rangers still need to fix their problems at Madison Square Garden.

December is a pivotal month of the year, especially with the Olympics right around the corner in February.  Thanksgiving has come and gone, but this month of December is going to be filled with more opportunities to gain some much b needed points in the Metropolitan Division.

The Rangers have 15 games in December, including some big games against Washington twice, the New York Islanders, Philadelphia Flyers and Carolina towards the end of the month.

Wish for continuity

Once this season is over, no matter the outcome, there is going be a question of continuity. Can this Rangers team stay together for another run or two at the Postseason. The only real answer to that lies in Artemi Panarin, and how much of a home-town discount he decides to take to stay.

There is a very good chance that this could be it for the Rangers, and another rebuild could be on the horizon. A playoff appearance at the end of 2025-26 could change everything for this team.
