For the first time since January 23rd against Philadelphia, the New York Rangers have scored six goals in one game.

March 30, 2025 marked the day the Rangers took down the San Jose sharks in a dominant 6-1 fashion. Adam Fox recorded two points and backup netminder Jonathan Quick tallied an incredibly impressive statline — 22 SA, 1 GA, 21 SV, .955 SV%. The win couldn't have come at a better time for the Blueshirts, just 24 hours after blowing a two-goal lead late in the third period of a 5-4 OT loss to the Anaheim Ducks.

Let's breakdown exactly how the Rangers got their latest win with four key takeaways from the matchup.

1. Finding his Fox

Defenseman Fox scored two goals for the third time in his career. The alternate captain led all skaters with six shots on goal, tied for most shot attempts (nine) and also blocked four shots at the other end of the ice.

2. A Party for Everyone

12 of the 18 Blueshirts had at least one point Saturday, and five players recorded two points. J.T. Miller extended his point streak to four games (3 goals, 4 assists) with a pair of helpers; Fox recorded the third two-goal game of his career and led all skaters with six shots; Artemi Panarin upped his goals totals to 10 in March and 33 this season.

Additionally, five of the six Rangers defensemen notched at least one point — only Carson Soucy did not — and Urho Vaakanainen had his second multi-point game of the season with two assists.

3. Quick's Quickness

Quick started his first game since March 9 after goaltender Igor Shesterkin claimed the call for nine straight. Back to the main point, Quick was exceptionally sharp when called upon, and this time his teammates rewarded him with that six-goal breakout.

The 39-year-old and Connecticut native finished 21 on 22 shots before rookie Cam Lund scored his first career goal to ruin Quick’s bid for his fourth shutout this season.

4. The Breadman Strikes Again

While it's up for debate on who the Rangers' best player is, Artemi Panarin did not leave it up for debate. He set his own tone with two goals very much less than three minutes apart in the first frame.

In March as a whole, Panarin has scored 10 goals and 10 assists for 20 points. Let's hope for the standings sake he keeps this up for the Blueshirts.

Up Next

This was the final game of the Rangers' West Coast road trip. The Blueshirts now travel back to New York to host Minnesota after a well-deserved break. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m. EST on Wednesday.
