The Rangers have a new voice and an immediate spark

There are plenty of talking points from the Rangers' 2024-25 season, but the bottom line is that it was a disappointment. Throughout the games, it was hard to recognize the team on the ice, especially after all the moments fans have experienced the past few years.

A lot of this falls on former head coach Peter Laviolette, who failed to prepare the team in crucial situations. It was clear that New York needed a change, and now they have it with Mike Sullivan.

This is a Rangers team that is a year removed from setting franchise records in wins and points, while also making the Eastern Conference Finals in 2022 and 2024. Going into the 2025-25 campaign, they will return virtually the same roster. Sure, there will be changes, but most of the core will be in tact.

For teams, sometimes all you need is a new voice to provide a spark. There's nobody better than a two-time Stanley Cup winner in Sullivan - who has coached some of the best players of this generation - to provide this for a Rangers team that is looking to bounce back in a big way.
