On a Sunday evening matchup, K'Andre Miller scored the tiebreaking goal with 8:28 remaining as the New York Rangers pulled off a rare third-period comeback to earn a 4-2 victory over the visiting Vegas Golden Knights.

Here's six key takeaways from the matchup.

1. Jonathan Quick's 400th Career Win

With the Rangers' latest win, goaltender and netminder Jonathan Quick has reached his coveted 400th career win. The milestone makes him the 15th goaltender and first American-born in National Hockey League history to reach the accomplishment.

Of the 15 goaltenders in NHL history who have earned 400 or more career wins, Quick is the fourth to play for the Rangers (Others: Henrik Lundqvist, Terry Sawchuk, and Jacques Plante). He's one win behind Chris Osgood, three behind Grant Fuhr and seven behind Glenn Hall. Quick had 13 saves in the first period, 14 in the second and seven in the third before being mobbed by his jubilant teammates inside the crease of Madison Square Garden.

"It means I've been lucky enough to play with a lot of great hockey players that value winning and put that above all else," Quick said. "I'm grateful that I've been on some great teams over the course of my career, this one included."

2. Mika Zibanejad's 900th Game

In his 900th career game, forward Mika Zibanejad tallied his first multi-point game since November 30. Zibanejad logged two assists and one goal for three points. His goal was scored for the equalizer in the third period on the power-play.

After the latest Rangers' win, Zibanejad said that every game moving forward needs to result in a win.

"Every game from now on is going to be a playoff-type game. We have to win, we have to get the two points - it doesn't matter what the other teams do if we don't win," Zibanejad said postgame.

3. Matt Rempe Penalty

Before the tide turned for the Rangers, Matt Rempe, who was at a game-low TOI entering the third period, drew a penalty on Brett Howden for interference.

Earlier in the evening, Rempe was put in the box for boarding due to a body check.

4. J.T. Miller's Return to MSG

Before puck drop J.T. Miller was announced as a starter by Rangers' PA announcer Joe Tolleson in his return to MSG as a New York Ranger. Blueshirt fans were on their feet and giving Miller thunderous applause.

Against the Golden Knights, Miller tallied two assists for two points in addition to recorded two shots on goal. Immediately after his trade from Vancouver and in his return to the Rangers' roster while in Boston he logged two goals.

As announced Friday, Jan. 31st, Miller was traded to the New York Rangers by the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini and a first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. New York also acquired defenseman Erik Brannstrom.

5. Adam Edstrom Out with Injury

Fourth-liner Adam Edstrom was out of the Rangers’ lineup against the Vegas Golden Knights because of a lower-body injury sustained during Saturday's play against Boston.

Edstrom left the game against the Bruins in the second period after having a TOI of 4:22.

β€œHe’s out tonight,” Rangers coach Peter Laviolette said before the game Sunday. β€œHe’s being evaluated still.”

6. Will Cuylle's Hit

In the third period, winger Will Cuylle absolutely leveled Las Vegas's Alex Pietrangelo.

It was the most aggressive hit of the game and certainly one of the more fun plays we've seen from Cuylle β€” who immediately dropped gloves after β€” all year.
