Former No. 23 overall pick, Gabe Perreault, in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft made his NHL debut in front of a roaring Madison Square Garden crowd on Wednesday night.

His presence on the ice made a difference, and it made an instant impact on the Rangers who went on to win in an exciting overtime matchup against Minnesota in a 5-4 victory for New York. Perreault tallied three shots on goal in 13:38 of ice time while wearing No. 94 like his father — former NHL star Yanic Perreault. But with all this excitement about Perreault after his rookie lap, who are the other young stars on the Rangers' roster?

Here's a look at the eight Blueshirts who are all at 23-years or younger on the roster — from youngest to oldest.

1. Gabe Perreault, 19-years-old

With all of the excitement over his rookie lap, Perreault lived up to the hype. He demonstrated an incredibly high hockey IQ on the ice and made his presence known in the zones. The 19-year-old recorded 16 goals and 32 assists for 48 points in 37 games for Boston College in his sophomore season. He ranked tied for fourth among NCAA skaters in assists, eighth in points per-game (1.30) and tied for 11th in points. BC concluded their season at the Manchester Regional on March 30th when they fell to No. 3-seed Denver in a 3-1 fashion. The Sherbrooke, Quebec native was also named a Hockey East First-Team All-Star and named a nominee for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, given to NCAA’s top men’s ice hockey player.

Internationally, Perreault won gold medals at the 2024 World Junior Champions with the United States and most recently helping the USA win back-to-back gold in 2025. Additionally, he also earned another gold medal at the 2023 U-18 World Championship.

Left wing Brennan Othmann has two points on the 2024-25 season so far across 17 games played. The New York Rangers selected Othmann with the No. 16 pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. Othmann had previously scored 33 points (17 goals, 16 assists) in 55 games with Flint of the Ontario Hockey League in 2019-20, when he was named to the league's First All-Rookie Team.

3. Brett Berard, 22-years-old

Another impressive budding star, Brett Berard has also made an instant impact. Berard was called up to the Rangers from the AHL Hartford Wolf Pack on November 24, 2024, after a disappointing road trip for the Rangers. He's so new that he doesn't even have a bio on his NHL page. But, across 31 games and at only 22-years-old, he's already registered eight points.

Berard played for Providence College in the NCAA, where he was recognized for his skill and contributions on the ice. In the NHL, the Rhode Island native is known for his energetic offensive style.

4. Matt Rempe, 22-years-old

Ah, yes, you knew this name was coming; the enforcer of our list. A 22-year-old family-oriented player with two sisters (Alley and Steph) who formerly played hockey in the Ivy League Conference, Rempe was was drafted by the Rangers in 2020 (sixth round, pick No. 165). Despite his youth — the Alberta, Canada native has quickly become a fan-favorite due to his passion for having his teammates' backs on the ice. Standing at 6'9" and weighing 255 pounds on skates, Rempe has scored two goals this season and three assists. He has also lived with netminder Jonathan Quick and his family, in addition to training with veteran Chris Kreider on the offseason. Fans have particularly noted his rapid growth in skill as of late.
