Brady Martin is another smaller option for the Rangers at the 2025 NHL draft

As we continue to cover the 2025 NHL draft class, get to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds alternate captain Brady Martin. We know the New York Rangers like to draft size, and we hope the talent joins later, but that isn't viable with Martin. He's not as significant as other members of this class, but he instead boasts massive talent and production ability. He's on the smaller side, but would you trade a few inches of height for the ability to score?

Martin is only 6'0" and weighs 174 lbs, so he's not filling out that frame yet. There could be concerns about his size for that reason, but the growth of both stature and muscle will come with time. Martin might have to take a few years in the OHL with the Greyhounds to continue putting on weight and refining his skills before he jumps to the professional level of hockey.

With the Wolves, Martin has scored 33 goals and 39 assists for 72 points in 57 games. That's a player flashing talent, despite not reaching the 100 mark that would put him in the territory of a blue-chip prospect. However, that could change if he returns to the OHL. We know that there will be teams looking to take a risk on a player like this, especially one out of Elmira, Ontario, who is native to a few Canadian teams.

As for the likelihood of the Rangers drafting him, if they do find a way to attend day one of the draft, it's unlikely due to his stature. We'll see where he ends up being drafted, but the Rangers typically prefer size to pure scoring talent, which could hamstring his chances under Chris Drury's leadership. Whether this is still Chris Drury's team when the draft comes is a different conversation, but it is a story to watch.
