The New York Rangers recalled Brennan Othmann. His season with the Hartford Wolf Pack has been sensational, and he has become one of the leaders in terms of points per game production down in the American Hockey League. In 27 games with the Wolf Pack, Othmann has recorded 12 goals and eight assists for 20 points, and he's starting to show why he was the first-round pick of the Rangers back in 2021. He's starting to become a threat to the Blueshirts.

Now, he's going to get a stint with the big team. While we determine whether or not he gets into the lineup, the Rangers will get to have Othmann train with the likes of Artemi Panarin, J.T. Miller, and Adam Fox and learn the habits of those players who have become stars in this league. If those rub off on the young Scarborough, Ontario native, the Rangers can enjoy the benefits of the winger playing at a higher caliber.

With Chris Kreider withdrawn just before the game against the Penguins, Othmann will get a chance as a top-six scorer if he plays. He will have the opportunity to show what he can do with good linemates and a touch of protection. Othmann is still hunting for his first NHL point, but the Rangers young forward will look to fix that when he gets into the iconic Blueshirt.

Homegrown talents like Othmann always develop a stronger relationship with the fanbase because the fans see the player's growth. You see these young kids become adults as they don the Rangers sweater. You see them grow up, and it endears them to one of the largest fanbases in the NHL. Othmann can become a star in Manhatten if he keeps his head on straight and continues his development path. He's going to get a chance in the coming weeks.
