Players to watch
Taylor Raddysh
Raddysh just lit up his former club with two goals and an assist for three points with three shots on goal during a 7-3 drubbing right before the holiday break. The contest against the Capitals was his second-best game of the season, and it is possible that Raddysh is a player who looks forward to playing against his former team. You shouldn't expect him to have another two-goal game, but it's hard not to focus on him again as he returns to Capital One Arena for the second time in just over a week.
Artemi Panarin
Panarin has loved playing against the Capitals during his career, sans one infamous night against Tom Wilson, and this is a classic matchup for him to be an impact player. The Rangers' leading scorer has 14 goals, 22 assists, and 36 points in 37 career games against Washington, and that includes a goal and an assist in the last matchup. Panarin was kept off the scoreboard against the New York Islanders and had just an assist against the Carolina Hurricanes, and this is a good "bounce back" spot for the pending UFA winger.
Adam Fox
Fox is expected to make his long-awaited return to the Rangers' lineup, and boy have the Rangers missed him. Fox has far and away been the Blueshirts' best player this season, and was on his way to having a career year offensively. The one-timer, should be two-time, Norris Trophy winner had three goals, 23 assists, and 26 points in 27 games, and still is third on the team in scoring. Fox also has a dominant 62.83 GF%, a 57.16 CF%, and a 59.72 xGF% in nearly 508 minutes at 5v5 per Evolving-Hockey. The Rangers are surrendering just 1.64 goals against per 60 minutes when Fox is on the ice, and are scoring 2.77. It will be great to have him back, and the hope is that he makes it out of the game unscathed.
