Chase Bridges offer unique vantage point for games at Madison Square Garden

This week is city and stadium week at FanSided. We are looking at some of the unique elements of the cities and buildings teams play in. For the New York Rangers, New York Knicks, and a bevy of musical artists, the Chase Bridges are a great place to sit to take in the action.

The New York Rangers have been playing at the current iteration of Madison Square Garden since 1968, and the World's Most Famous Arena has seen it's fair share of action over the last 57 years. That doesn't just include the action on the ice, court, floor, stage, ring, or any other surface an entertainment act has utilized at the building located at 4 Penn Plaza, as MSG has gone through multiple improvements since the doors first opened.

The most recent improvements came between 2011 and 2013, and $1 billion was spent to upgrade seats, concourses, the team store, suites, and much more. One of the most notable changes was the addition of the West Balcony, an addition to the arena which took the place where sky boxes used to be. The West Balcony includes a number of different sections collectively known as the 300 level, but the most notable section include the Chase Bridges.

The Chase Bridges are an elevated catwalk which hangs above the 200 level and offers a top down view of the entertainment below. There is a combination of traditional stadium seating, barstool seating, and plenty of open areas where people can stand and still view what's going on.

As you can see from the video, which is better in full screen, you get a pretty unique vantage point to take in the action. For a sport like hockey, the Chase Bridges give fans a great opportunity for fans to see plays develop in real time, and offers a great view of the action in all three zones. Some fans may prefer a closer look at the action, but I would encourage you to take in the action from that level for at least a game.

I've sat up there for basketball, hockey, and a concert, and each experience has been very enjoyable. It's helpful that the Chase Bridges also have a great assortment of food and beverage options, and it is very easy to get what you need and right back to your seat without missing any of the action. Madison Square Garden is a great place to visit, and the next time you have a chance to attend an event, be sure to check if seats are available up top. You won't regret taking in the action from a new perspective.
