The New York Rangers are back in action at Madison Square Garden, a building in which they've been shutout twice to start the 2025-26 National Hockey League season, and tonight they take on the two-time defending Western Conference Champions. Players to Watch
Will Cuylle
Cuylle picked up his first goal of the season on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and was one of the team's more aggressive players on Sunday against the Capitals. He logged 17:34 in the the shutout loss, and tallied four shots on goal. Cuylle is getting a chance to prove himself in the top six for the Blueshirts, and he isn't getting the results he's deserved to this point. Per Evolving-Hockey he's posted a 54.12 CF% and a 57.63 xGF% through four games, and if this level of play continues the points will come in due time.
Artemi Panarin
Panarin has yet to score for the Rangers, and he's not put himself to be a dangerous offensive players. He logged 21:03 vs. the Capitals, and for the second game in a row he finished with just a single shot on goal. He's got six thus far in four games which is very uncharacteristic of him. It is possible the Rangers winger, who did not dress in the preseason, is still getting into game shape. It is also possible that the uncertainty of his future is weighing on him. No matter what it is, Panarin needs to get his game going. Tonight's a great time to start.
Sam Carrick
Carrick is having a sensational start to the season with three assists through four games as the pivot on the Blueshirts' bottom line. He's surrounded by two towering wingers in Adam Edstrom and Matt Rempe, and has been making things happen. He leads the team with a 72.99 xGF% and also has a 56.28 CF% thus far. Head coach Mike Sullivan has been trusting of the fourth line so far, and it will be interesting to see how they look against an Oilers' squad with some decent offensive depth. Carrick has been a nice story thus far, and tonight's another opportunity for him to have an impact for the Blueshirts.
Jack Roslovic
Former Ranger Jack Roslovic is making his Oilers debut tonight.
“It’s a great core of guys that know how to adapt to new faces & bring them in.”

Jack Roslovic reflects on his first few days with the team & what he’s looking to add to the lineup as he makes his #Oilers debut tonight. @Enterprise | #LetsGoOilers pic.twitter.com/vfgJaiMKmB
Last season he scored 22 goals and added 17 assists for 39 points in 81 games for the Carolina Hurricanes. During his 19 games on Broadway he posted a line of 3-5-8. Former Blueshirts have a knack for scoring once they face off against New York, and it wouldn't be surprising if Jumpin Jack found the back of the net this evening.
