K'Andre Miller is officially no longer a New York Ranger.
In a move that has been expected for quite some time, the first day of free agency saw Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury deal Miller to the Carolina Hurricanes in an eight year deal in exchange for defenseman Scott Morrow, and first and second round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. Ahead of the trade, Miller was a restricted free agent two years way from becoming an unrestricted free agent.
Many Rangers fans have wanted him gone due to his recent decline in production — Miller appeared in 74 games and had 27 points throughout the most recent campaign.
Here's how fans across the lead are reacting
Most fans are saying that Carolina got the rough end of the deal for this trade, and that's putting it lightly.
"In what world should K’Andre Miller make more than Jacob Slavin," one fan asked across Twitter/X.

"Seems like a lot for Carolina to give up, but maybe I don’t know much about Miller," another fan said across social media.
"Lol absolutely none of that is a haul, but I get it, NY will hype that as the greatest trade ever. I saw enough to Morrow to know he's a third defensive pairing/ healthy scratch in the NHL," said another.
"Would have been cheaper to just offer sheet lol," one fan said.
Carolina got absolutely fleeced 😂

Other free agency developments
Tuesday also saw Vladislav Gavrikov join the Rangers' roster with a seven-year deal, and a $7 million AAV. Additionally, Drury and Will Cuylle have come to terms on a two-year deal that will pay him nearly $4 million per season.
Cuylle's news saw plenty of positive feedback across the fanbase and many regard him as the most improved player from 2024-25 — Cuylle is coming off a career year in which he scored 20 goals, he recorded 25 assists and 45 points in 82 games.
