Former New York Rangers prospect Victor Mancini is now a Calder Cup champion as the Abbotsford Canucks defeated the Charlotte Checkers to capture the American Hockey League title. Mancini was drafted in the 5th round of the 2022 NHL draft, and he joined the Vancouver Canucks organization as part of the trade that sent J.T. Miller back to New York in January.

Mancini wasn't the only former Ranger who was part of the championship squad, as Sammy Blais and Phil Di Giuseppe played a role for the Canucks' minor league squad. Blais is infamously known for being a key part of the Rangers trade of Pavel Buchnevich to the St. Louis Blues, and he tallied 40 points in the regular season and scored six goals and added 19 points in 23 games in the playoffs which was third most among skaters.
Di Giuseppe spent parts of two seasons with the Rangers, and this season logged 20 games in the NHL with Vancouver and 22 in the AHL with Abbotsford. He tallied a line of 6-5-11 in 24 games in the Calder Cup playoffs in supporting role.
