Your New York Rangers are in an interesting position. With a solid set of performances to start 2025, the Blueshirts can compete for the postseason, but that isn't the direction the club wants to go if DailyFaceoff's Frank Seravalli is to be believed. His newest trade board has four New York Rangers defensemen involved as the Rangers might look for some hockey trades to perform reconstructive surgery on the backend. It's going to be an interesting deadline.

At #4 on his board, Ryan Lindgren resided. As a pending UFA, Lindgren makes sense to be here, even if the Rangers are competing. New York won't want to lose him for nothing, and the Blueshirts can get value for him if they want to move him before the deadline. Teams will be interested in him in the coming weeks ahead of March 8, and the Rangers will recoup assets for a piece they landed in the Rick Nash trade if they desire.

At 17, Will Borgen finds himself on Seravalli's trade board. It's an interesting situation with Borgen because he's only just gotten here, and he's been a decent fit. However, he's also a pending UFA, and he will draw interest in his physical style of play. I've said before that he screams Florida Panther at me, so we'll see where he is when the deadline comes.

Zac Jones sits at 20 because he's been a healthy scratch for a while. Urho Vaakanainen has kept him out of the lineup because he's been handed the role. With such a young talent, he will draw interest from around the league, but the Blueshirts need to consider what they will do with the former third-round pick in the 2019 NHL entry draft. He's young enough to salvage but hasn't become what he once could have been.

Finally, K'Andre Miller nets himself the final spot on the trade board from Daily Faceoff. You cannot hide from the struggles Miller has endured this season, but the Blueshirts are in a situation with Miller. He's got value around the league, and at 6'5, GMs will love him. However, his underperformance in all three zones means the Rangers must evaluate his future in New York. That's got to be a warning flag because the Rangers have defensive issues.

We'll see where the situation with these four defensemen leads. New York's issues in its own zone have plagued them this season and will continue. However, the Rangers want to ensure that those defensive concerns are a thing of the past. To do this, they'll need to make significant changes to the backend and get better in their own zone. Now, we wait to see what Chris Drury does to handle this situation.
