This afternoon New York Rangers disappointed with a less than optimal effort on home ice against the Tampa Bay Lightning, but this evening the kids in Hartford gave the fanbase something to cheer about with a big come from behind victory on the road. The Hartford Wolf Pack faced off against the Cleveland Monsters, and rallied to score three unanswered goals in the third period to win 3-2.
Gabe Perreault comes through in the clutch for Hartford
Perreault was named the second star of the game in the win, Spencer Martin made 35 saves on 37 shots to take home top honors, and the Rangers' top prospect picked up his seventh and eighth goals of the season.

At 11:56 of the third period Perreault scored to pull the Wolf Pack within a goal, and seconds later Trey Fix-Wolansky scored to make it 2-2 with just under half a period to go.
The Wolf Pack then went on the power play with time winding down in the third period, and Perreault came through in the clutch when his team needed it most.

With a pair of goals against Cleveland, Perreault now has a line of 8-6-14 through 15 games for the Wolf Pack, and he remains the team's leading scorer by points. His eight goals are second to Fix-Wolansky who also has four assists on the season for 13 total points.
This was the second of two games Hartford played against Cleveland, and they won Friday's contest 6-4. Hartford returns to action next weekend where they take on the Springfield Thunderbirds at home, and they will also travel to Bridgeport to face the Islanders on Saturday. This is of importance to fans of the Rangers, because it will be interesting to see if the front office considers shaking things up if the offense continues to look lifeless on home ice.
The Rangers have a stretch of important home games coming up, and someone like Perreault could spark some energy in a team that could use a boost of adrenaline. If Perreault were to be called up it would require a player getting sent down, and that is something that could be done if the Rangers happen to be without Adam Fox for the foreseeable future. The Rangers are off until Tuesday, so it is unlikely any update will come soon.
