19-year-old Gabe Perreault is officially a New York Ranger and present on practice ice.

On Monday afternoon, the Rangers agreed to terms with forward Gabe Perreault on a three-year, entry-level contract following the conclusion of Boston College's play in the NCAA men's ice hockey championship at the Manchester Regional. Less than 24 hours later he's been seen by Blueshirt beat reporters working with the power play two unit alongside with K'Andre Miller, J.T. Miller, Alexis Lafrenière and Jonny Brodzinski.

Additionally, Ranger leaders Chris Kreider and Vincent Trocheck were some of the first people to text Perreault and welcome him to the franchise.

According to USA Today Sports reporter Vince Mercogliano, New York Rangers Head Coach Peter Laviolette has said he has not yet made his decision on whether Perreault will debut against the Wild, but all signs are pointing to Blueshirt fans seeing him as a Ranger on Wednesday.

"I’ll be excited. Obviously, a little bit nervous. But I know that's part of it. That's expected, but I'd be super grateful and really thankful for everyone that's helped me get to this point."
Gabe Perreault on a possible Wed. debut

Perreault was originally selected by the Blueshirts in the first round, 23rd overall, of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. The 19-year-old recorded 16 goals and 32 assists for 48 points in 37 games for Boston College in his sophomore season. He ranked tied for fourth among NCAA skaters in assists, eighth in points per-game (1.30) and tied for 11th in points. BC concluded their season at the Manchester Regional on March 30th when they fell to No. 3-seed Denver in a 3-1 fashion.

While Perreault, a Canada native, should obviously be excited as his future with the New York Rangers and in the NHL, he is still a 19-year-old who is adjusting to life outside of college, he implied to Rangers reporters.

"It wasn't an easy decision at all. Leaving those guys [at BC], a lot of my best friends — brothers for life. So, it wasn't easy, but I just thought it was the time to take the next step. I thought, with my brain, I was definitely ready."
