Things are tough for New York Rangers fans right now as the team continues to sputter following the release of the Letter 2.0, but there is something that is bringing some joy to the Blueshirt faithful. Franchise legend and Hockey Hall of Fame goaltender Henrik Lundqvist recently shared a video on social media, and his long awaited return to the goal crease at Madison Square Garden has fans dreaming of a royal NHL comeback.

Lundqvist's video stopping pucks has fans thinking about better days from the past

The Rangers are hosting their latest Alumni Classic matchup at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, January 25, and Lundqvist will be participating in the festivities. With Igor Shesterkin injured, Jonathan Quick showing his age, and Spencer Martin doing the best that he can, Lundqvist's return to the crease at the World's Most Famous Arena will be a welcome sight for Rangers fans.

Lundqvist retired after he was unable to continue his career due to a heart condition, and he ended his career with a record of 459-310-96 with a .918 save percentage and a 2.43 goals against average in the regular season. He also went 61-67 in the playoffs with a .921 save percentage and a 2.30 goals against average. Lundqvist won the Vezina Trophy during the 2011-12 NHL season, and also finished third in voting for the Hart Trophy.
