The New York Rangers are celebrating their centennial season, and have already unveiled the jerseys they will wear on select nights during the 2025-26 campaign. The team's goaltenders have also shared how they plan on celebrating with special gear to be worn with the centennial sweater.

Jonathan Quick leans into history of organization with his mask

Quick grew up a Ranger fan in Connecticut, and is very familiar with the history of the organization. The three-time Stanley Cup champion, who hopes to add another title in New York, shared the inspiration behind his special mask.

Quick's mask features the team's 100th anniversary shield on the crown of the mask, the team's retired numbers down the side, and the Stanley Cup banners that hang in the rafters at Madison Square Garden on the backplate of his mask. The color scheme is in line with the jersey the team will wear, and it's a very basic and elegant look.

He is completing the look with pads that match the Rangers' centennial colors, and the cream coloring of the front of the pads accented by red and blue give it a bit of a vintage look.

Igor Shesterkin's setup in an instant classic

Shesterkin has had some interesting setups over the year's, my favorite was his pads inspired by the ceiling of MSG being highlighted on the bottom trim, and his centennial setup is pretty clean.

Shesterkin incorporated the Rangers' shield into the bottom of his pads, and that motif is continued on his glove and blocker. He also added a small 100th anniversary logo to the top of his pads, but other than than that there's a lot of off white and cream which could be a strategic way of making himself look bigger because of how it will blend in with the ice, net mesh, and boards.

We will have to see him wear them on the ice in the crease with the jerseys to see for sure, but it's another great look for him. His mask is a bit more subdued with his number on the chin, the Rangers' wordmark across the crown, and a "Big Apple" with an 100 on it on the side.

All in all, both goaltenders did a solid job with their setups, and it will be great to see both of them take the ice in full uniform on opening night with the new centennial sweaters.
