Fans are definitely frustrated and even angry at the recent games and losses for the New York Rangers. With a small amount of hope disappearing quickly, fans are not happy with the players and their amount of effort recently.
Blue Line Station’s own Hannah Eng was on the scene at Madison Square Garden again to talk to fans after the loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Blue Line Station asked fans what questions they wanted answered.
“Who is your least favorite Ranger player and why?”
Here is her interaction with fans to see which players they are discouraged with.
The New York Rangers lose again, and this time to an original-six Canadian team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. This is their third loss in a row, not a streak the Rangers want to make permanent. In this case, three is not a magic number; disappointment and loss of hope are written all over it. Rangers are slowly making a decline in their wildcard spot, now sitting at number four instead of being third previously. With the way they are playing, it seems like New York won’t get to cheer for the Rangers in the playoffs, and the fans are losing hope. Instead of the Rangers relying on their legacy, maybe they should focus on their skills and the game itself. Let’s go back to the basics and just play good hockey. That’s how they are going to win.
I, Hannah Eng, returned to MSG hoping to see a win for the Blueshirts. Unfortunately, that was not the case, and I too left the game very disappointed. But I got to hear the raw, honest opinions from the fans, and especially after a loss, the fans didn’t hold back.
Last night our own @Hannah__Eng took to the streets once again outside MSG following the 4-3 loss against Toronto. She held some Q&A’s with New York Rangers fans about their honest opinions on current players.

Here’s what the fans had to say🎤🎥#NYR | #NYRangers pic.twitter.com/Fuvm3YYn5s
"To be honest, right now, all of them are my least favorite players. I would love to single out a guy like Kreider … Nobody cares anymore … There’s no more effort, and I’m done with all of them."Greg, NY Rangers fan
Looking at Chris Kreider’s stats, he has only had one goal in the last five games and no assists. People expect him to perform since he is a seasoned player, but he has not lived up to his potential.
Some fans didn’t have words to call out just one player. They just acknowledged that it was terrible and even brutal watching, and the whole team was not good. New York City even knew the loss was devastating as it poured outside MSG, minutes after the game ended. Even NYC was crying with the fans.
"It’s brutal … but I’m not here to hand out participation trophies ... It’s bad. It’s bad."Steve, NY Rangers fan
"I think we are going to go with the whole team"Kerrianne and Emma, NY Ranger fans
Several fans called out Carson Soucy. During his last five games, and all the games he has played with the Rangers since he joined in early March, he has only had one goal and one assist. He has not been impressive as a defenseman, either. It turns out that fans are not impressed with him.
"I definitely think Soucy. He spent more time on his butt than on his actual skates."Zack, NY Rangers fan
"Yeah, I think Soucy is by far probably one … he was one of the worst defensemen."Tim, NY Rangers fan

Fans also weren’t impressed with Adam Fox. He has not scored in his last five games but has had three assists. Fans blamed him for previous losses and complained about his salary.
"Adam Fox … now probably bottom two … We lost the USA Championship. That was his fault."Mark, NY Rangers fan
"Adam Fox. When is he going to show up? He is overpaid."Andy, NY Rangers fan
Rangers fans didn’t hold back on their opinions, and they shouldn’t; they just watched their team lose again at home, making the loss even more painful. Again, fans booed the Rangers in their performance on the ice. From watching the match, I sensed more heart in the players initially.
Do they have any heart, passion, or motivation? I relate it to the Grinch’s heart, shrunken but with room to grow. It’s time to see some growth; the fans and I need it. We all need some New York Ranger-winning spirit back in our veins. The Rangers have a saying, “ No Quit In NY,” but from what we have seen in the last three games, there is indeed quit. They have taken away our hope. Time to replenish it.
