The New York Rangers are closing in on a deal for Vancouver Canucks forward J.T Miller. Miller has been asked to waive his no-movement clause to facilitate a deal with his former hockey club, and the Rangers are eager to get this deal over the line. Details of the trade are still coming out, but the Rangers look to have landed the former forward, and the saga regarding Miller seems to have come to a conclusion.

Miller has been left out of the Vancouver Canucks lineup ahead of their game with the Dallas Stars and has reportedly left the building in the buildup to the deal. New York has already had a failed trade for Miller, so we'll be waiting for the Rangers to get this one over the line and finish the trade ahead of the Rangers matinee tomorrow against the Boston Bruins. Miller verbally agreed to it, so we'll see where this goes when the paperwork gets done.

New York traded Miller to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the same deal that sent former Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh to the Bolts. The Rangers are now bringing their former forward. He was their first-round pick in the 2011 NHL entry draft, and now he might return to the Garden. New York is trying to finish this deal before tomorrow's game so Miller can be involved against Dallas.

New York needs more scoring, and they have the cap space to do this ahead of the trade. They will reportedly get more than just Miller in this deal if some of the insiders are to be believed, but the Rangers will be looking for some more scoring. A fresh start for Miller could see the forward get a fresh start ahead of the remainder of the season. It would be great to get this done before the four nations faceoff.
