Twenty four seconds in overtime, Vincent Trocheck scored to give the New York Rangers a 5-4 victory over the Minnesota Wild in the Blueshirts' first game back at Madison Square Garden following their West Coast trip.
Artemi Panarin scored his team-leading 34th goal following defenseman K'Andre Miller scoring a goal in the second frame. Key's was a wrist shot, with J.T. Miller and Will Borgen being credited with the assists. Igor Shesterkin made 20 saves for New York (36-32-7) causing them to gain in the East wild card race.
As previously mentioned — K'Andre Miller tied it 2-2 at 2:51 of the second period, after the puck bounced off the end boards to him in the left circle and his shot went over Minnesota netminder Filip Gustavsson's right shoulder. This goal was significant in that it gave J.T. Miller his coveted 700th career point.

In his career, J.T. Miller has played in a whopping 869 games, scoring 257 goals and tallying 443 assists. He returned to where his NHL career began when the Vancouver Canucks traded him to the New York Rangers, with Erik Brannstrom and Jackson Dorrington, on Jan. 31, 2025, for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, and a first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.

J.T. Miller was selected by the Rangers with the No. 15 pick in the 2011 NHL Draft after playing two seasons for the USA Hockey National Team Development Program. After his time as a Blueshirt the first time around, he had stints with the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Vancouver Canucks before returning home to Madison Square Garden.
The Ohio native has also proved himself on the Rangers' power play. New York Rangers Head Coach Peter Laviolette commented postgame on the Blueshirts recent PP efforts — which is now unfortunately 2-for-41 over their last 15 games.
“It’s moved around quite a bit, it’s not like we’re sitting here stuck on one thing. We’re moving it around, trying different options and we work on it in practice. It’s an opportunity to make a difference in a game like tonight and we’ll continue to look at it and look at the personnel that we have and what we can do to make that effective inside of a game like tonight," Laviolette said. "[Special teams has] been a real positive for us for a long time, but we're in a little bit of a funk right now with it and we'll have to get out of it."
Since his return, he has already posted well over 20 points and has been very reliable in helping the Rangers in their quest to move up the standings. This latest 700 is just another notch in the 32-year-old's belt.
