Sam Rosen has two games left until he signs off for the final time as a broadcaster, and according to Mollie Walker of the New York Post, Kenny Albert is replacing Sam as the TV voice of the New York Rangers.

Joe Micheletti will also be back on board to to serve as Albert's color commentator and analyst. Albert, the son of legendary sports announcer Marv Albert, currently serves as the radio voice of the Rangers. In addition to this, Albert is also the lead voice for the NHL on Turner Sports, the backup announcer for Mike Breen during New York Knicks broadcasts on MSG, and he also calls games for the NFL on FOX.

The secondary part of this news is that Alex Faust is going to serve as Albert's backup when he is unavailable for TV broadcasts, and the main voice on radio.

Faust is an accomplished announcer who has held many different roles. He's been a fill-in radio voice for the Rangers over the last few seasons, and is the former voice of the Los Angeles Kings. In addition to calling hockey, Faust is a lead voice for Apple TV+ coverage of MLB, he calls MLB games on TNT, and college football and basketball. Faust gained some additional notoriety back in 2018 when then host of Jeopardy! Alex Trebek stated that Faust is someone who could replace him as host.

No broadcaster can ever truly replace Rosen, and hearing a new voice on TV is going to be different for fans. But in this case the voice fans are going to hear is a familiar one, and someone that has been involved with New York sports his entire life. I think having Faust, a Brooklyn native, join the rotation is also something that will be a benefit, because he's one of the better young announcers in all of sports.
