Every "barn" that houses a 200-foot sheet of ice heralds its arena being the best in the world. But, there can truly only be one best-of-the-best house of hockey.

Some argue that the history that floods the walls of TD Garden in Boston is the best, or the modernistic look of Scotiabank Arena in Toronto is the epicenter of the hockey world. Some might even say the Bell Centre in Montreal. All of those are very, very wrong.

In midtown Manhattan, there is a building hidden amongst the skyscrapers that has been named "The World's Most Famous Arena". And, it is the best NHL arena, and it isn't even close.

Madison Square Garden

The New York Rangers have been calling Madison Square Garden home for 100 years, and they have been in the fourth iteration of it since 1968. With the centennial season approaching in 2025-26, Blueshirts faithful have been filing into the arena for over three generations.

The New York Knicks and the Rangers have both become well-respected and acknowledged teams in their particular sports, and that is thanks to their home arena. Millions flock to witness the iconic ceiling of the Garden, the retired jerseys, the memorabilia surrounding the concourse, all of it. No matter how many times to go to a game, you will find something new there to catch your eye.

Let us also not forget the iconic goal song, that will hum in your head for the rest of you life.

Transportation and surrounding area

Getting to the game is very easy if you are aware. NJ Transit rolls right underneath the streets of Manhattan to Pennsylvania, or Penn, Station. Making it very accessible by train, with the subway also flowing through it. New York City has a large number of parking garages, though it is very costly.

There are a ton of great places to eat, grab a beer, and of course, you are just a few blocks away from Times Square. In the city that never sleeps, the possibilities are endless in terms of the places you can go before and after a Rangers game.

You do not get the name, "The World's Greatest Arena," for nothing, you know. After 100+ years of spectacle and entertainment, there is no denying that there is no better NHL arena than that of Madison Square Garden.
