Matt Rempe likely still out against Minnesota

Budding young forward Matt Rempe was listed as week to week due to an upper body injury last Thursday for the New York Rangers. But as of April 1st he was seen on the practice ice in a non-contact jersey.

New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe was seen at practice wearing a green non-contact jersey on Tuesday, following an upper body injury, which suggests he is not yet ready for full contact, but that the New York Rangers are hopeful for his return soon.

Fan-favorite enforcer and 22-year-old forward Rempe was listed as week to week on Thursday, March 27th due to an upper body injury. Rempe played on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Kings which is likely when he sustained his injury. Rempe fought Tanner Jeannot during the Rangers 3-1 loss on Tuesday, and went down hard after losing his balance. Most are speculating his upper body injury was sustained in this particular moment in reference.

This is still some unfortunate news for the New York Rangers organization, as they look to secure a wild card spot and need all the help they can get. So losing any player long-term at this time of the year is never good.

In 36 games, the forward has recorded two goals, three assists and five points while averaging 7:59 minutes.

Now this doesn't necessarily mean Rempe will return anytime soon — such as on Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Wild — but with the Rangers only having eight games left; but seeing him back in the ice is huge positive for the team.
