It's another day for the New York Rangers to show what they can do in 2025. They're 3-1-1 in the year, with wins over the Boston Bruins and New Jersey Devils. There's a feel-good factor in the air around this club right now, which was missing for the six weeks leading up to the new year. Tonight, the Rangers will look to build on that as they travel to Sin City to take on the Vegas Golden Knights.

Filip Chytil and Chris Kreider accompanied the team out west. Kreider is still not in contention to play, but Filip Chytil is a game-time decision for tonight. In the uncertainty around Chytil's playing status, the Rangers recalled Bo Giroulx. To accommodate this, the Rangers sent down Brett Berard, who has many fans. This isn't a permanent situation, and Berard will be back up as soon as time permits, but the Rangers had to open the roster spot for the center, and we'll see if it was worth it tonight.

Igor Shesterkin shone in his return to the ice against the New Jersey Devils, and there's no reason to think the Rangers will rotate to Jonathan Quick against his former team. Despite the Rangers ' struggles, Shesterkin has shown he is still the best netminder in the league, but the goal support hasn't been there. New York will be looking to back up their netminder tonight.

Puck Drop

It's a 7 p.m. puck drop from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the New York Rangers look to continue their strong start to 2025. We know that the Blueshirts have started to look like their old selves in the new year, but Vegas is top of the standings and is the best team in the league to this point of the season. Defeating the Golden Knights is never easy, and the Rangers are depleted, trying to climb this mountain.
