The New York Rangers have had a busy Day 2 of the 2025 NHL Draft, and in the sixth round they made a pair of draft picks which will only add to their ever growing prospect pool. At No. 166 overall the Blueshirts selected Samuel Jung, a right winger from Kärpät U20, and at No. 171 overall they added Evan Passmore another hulking defender from the Barrie Colts of the OHL.

Jung stands 6'3" and weighs 172 lbs., and turned 19 in May. He's a right winger who was ranked as the No. 300 prospect by McKeen's Hockey and is from Czechia. This past season he appeared in 44 games for Kärpät and posted a line of 22-10-32 and tallied 50 penalty minutes. At this moment in time there isn't a ton of information readily available,

Passmore comes in at 6'5" and 212 lbs., and turns 19 this December. He skated for the Barrie Colts and was ranked anywhere from No. 83 overall to No. 214 overall, so him coming to the Rangers at No. 171 could either be a great gift or a bit of a reach.
The Blueshirts' newest prospect is described as having impressive range, and someone who has an active stick and is great at breaking up chances by separating players from the puck and shutting plays down entirely.

The Rangers certainly have been looking to beef up their blue line, and Passmore is someone who has size and plays well with it. In 62 games he tallied just three goals and eight assists for 11 points, and offense isn't something that projects to be a big part of his game. That's perfectly fine, and early looks seem to indicate that he's a player who knows his role, and aims to execute in the areas of the game he can impact.
