New York Rangers look to rebound from Oilers loss when they host the Buffalo Sabres
Last night's game was problematic in every traditional sense of the word. A Rangers team that looked flat and deflated, depending on their goaltender to keep them in the game, and just looked outclassed. It wasn't good enough. Now, the Blueshirts will get a chance to make up for their mistake against their rivals from upstate as the Buffalo Sabres come to town. They will get a chance for redemption in their final game before Christmas.
However, this Sabres team is not to be taken lightly. In their last two games, they have given up 9 goals to the Columbus Blue Jackets, and then responded by hanging nine goals on the Toronto Maple Leafs. This is a dangerous team when they want to be, and they now have some of their young kids to add back into the lineup. If the Rangers are as sluggish as they were last night, the Blueshirts will be eating their Christmas food
Igor Shesterkin will probably take this one since Jonathan Quick went last night against the Oilers. New York will be expecting a better effort in front of him, but being the less rested team means that they will need to score first and early if they are going to win tonight. Forcing this game later and later will only favor the Sabres who will be coming into tonight having watched the game yesterday and seeing the Rangers weaknesses put on display.

Puck Drop
This is going to be a 7:30 puck drop from the Garden. New York will be looking to sail into Christmas on a high, enjoying a win over their rivals. Rather than reflecting on a poor double header before the break. One way or another, this will be the final game before Santa leaves us all gifts under the tree, so enjoy the game tonight.
