New York Rangers take on the Carolina Hurricanes in Game Six at PNC Arena
The New York Rangers fly down to Raleigh, North Carolina, for game six against the Carolina Hurricanes. Carolina is looking to become the 10th team in NHL history to go down 3-0 in a series and force a game seven with a win tonight, and the Rangers can knock out the Metropolitan Division runners-up with a win. It's the same situation for the last three days: win and move on for the New York Rangers. With a loss, their backs would also go up against the wall.
For the Rangers, everyone is expected to be available tonight after Filip Chytil made his long-awaited return to the lineup in game three and missed the next two due to illness. There's also the chance Blake Wheeler, who shed his non-contact jersey a few days ago, could be an option as he works his way back from the scary leg injury he sustained.
On the Carolina side, there have been rumblings of Brett Pesce becoming available for them once more. He shed his non-contact jersey after a lower-body injury he sustained in round one against the New York Islanders. He will not play tonight, but if the Rangers lose this game, the availability of their promising right-shot defenseman for game seven is something the Rangers will have to find a way to overcome. He makes the Hurricanes a much more difficult opponent for the Rangers.
