As the New York area looks to recover from a minor earthquake earlier today, the Rangers will take to the ice tonight to take on the Detroit Red Wings. These two teams have had a few entertaining affairs throughout the season, but as we're getting down to the wire in the final games, we could see the desperation factor of the Detroit organization come into play. They need the two points tonight, and the recent Rangers games have been a little spooky.

Jacob Trouba and K'Andre Miller will be the big story for me tonight. They both got the game off against New Jersey after the opening fights. If this pairing cannot play well with an extended rest, there are some problems. Miller and Trouba should be needed to play most of the minutes tonight after Braden Schneider, Erik Gustafsson, Adam Fox, and Ryan Lindgren played almost 30 minutes each in the last game.

New York will be looking to complete the season sweep over the Detroit Red Wings with a win tonight. New York won the previous two meetings 5-3 and 3-2, so while these have been close games, the Blueshirts have gotten the better of it. Another win tonight will knock the number of points needed to clinch the Metropolitan Division down to six. They will at least cement home ice through the first two rounds if they can.

Puck Drop

Tonight's game from Little Caesars Arena will start at 7 p.m. If you are going to this game as part of the incredible support the Rangers get when they go on the road, be sure to be loud. Detroit will need their fans behind them to get going and try to grab two points for their postseason push. If the Rangers can get them on the back foot, they could blow the game open early.
