On the heels of a 6-4 win over the New York Islanders on Tuesday, Brennan Othmann and Chris Kreider did a little bit of everything to help the Blueshirts improve to an overall preseason record of 3-0.

Against the Boston Bruins on Thursday, Sept. 26., the Bruins only managed to score two compared to the Ranger's five. Othmann and alternate captain Kreider led the statsheet. The pair each posted a goal in addition to an assist, with Kreider having one more additional shot on goal.

The 21-year-old forward — Othmann — played in his third straight preseason game, scored his first goal, recorded his first assist and was a major pest, annoying the Bruins all night.

He scored a highlight reel goal, turning a breakaway into an incredible score. He showed his elite hands, crafting a play that left the Bruins’ goaltender with no chance of making a save.

Kreider, a Massachusetts native, showed his versatility on the ice at Madison Square Garden. For his assist, he swiftly slid a pass to Adam Fox on the left wing who hit the puck in the wide-open net.

Kreider also neatly deflected a Jacob Trouba shot past Bussi at 18:05 for his third preseason goal so far.

On another positive note, the power play went 1-2, but the penalty kill is what truly shined. Only taking two penalties, the Rangers were able to kill them both off without any trouble. Even when down a skater, New York gave Boston few chances to capitalize on anything at all.

The Bruins — now 1-2 — two goals of the night were spread out with one being scored in the first period and the next going through the net in the second.

Rangers' goaltenders Louis Domingue and Jonathan Quick shared the net tonight and were responsbilty for holding off the Bruins' offense.

Missing from the ice for the Rangers was first-line defenseman Ryan Lindgren, who is out due to injury pending a tentative return.
