The New York Rangers have re-signed prospect Brendan Brisson to a one-year, two-way contract, and they hope that the 2025-26 season can be one filled with growth and development as they look to eventually raise the floor of their NHL forward depth.

Brisson was acquired from the Vegas Golden Knights last season as part of the Reilly Smith trade, and he appeared in 16 games for the Hartford Wolf Pack. In that stretch he tallied two goals and added four assists for six points. The Blueshirts' forward prospect also skated for the Henderson Silver Knights, and in tallied five goals and 14 assists for 19 points in 45 games.

In his AHL career to date, Brisson has scored 47 goals and added 61 assists for 108 points in 178 games across four seasons. The 6'0" and 198-pound forward was originally selected by the Golden Knights 29th overall at 2020 NHL Draft, and he will look to carve out a larger role for himself next season.

Brisson had a strong final season at the University of Michigan in 2021-22, and he tallied 21 goals and assists for 42 points in 38 games. In his first full season with the Henderson Silver Knights he tallied 18 goals and 19 assists for 37 points in 58 games, and he followed that up with 19 goals and assists for 38 points in 52 games. He hit a bit of a development wall last season, and that continue following the trade to Hartford.

This upcoming season he will get a chance to skate in the Wolf Pack's top six, and there will be every opportunity for him to try and get his game back on track. The Wolf Pack will have a little more fire power following the addition of Trey Fix-Wolansky, and maybe that addition will help elevate the entire group, and Brisson can be a beneficiary of that.
