The New York Rangers concluded their pair of exhibition games against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday in Allentown, PA. The two teams faced off 22 hours after the Flyers defeated the Blueshirts in overtime of Game 1, and the Rangers took Game 2 in convincing fashion with a final score of 5-2.
Rangers' top prospects were their best players
The players who are most likely to play a big role in main camp, which opens up on Wednesday, expectedly stood out in the rookie showcase. Scott Morrow opened the scoring for the Rangers with a goal from the slot on the power play.

Brennan Othmann was also quite good, again, and he set up defenseman Jackson Dorrington for the second goal of the game which came shorthanded just under a minute into the second period.

Gabe Perreault also made an impact for New York, and he picked up an assist on Jaroslav Chmelar's goal which restored a two-goal lead for the "Baby Blueshirts."

Noah Laba, a center prospect of intrigue who could be a long shot to earn a spot in the bottom six this season, scored the fourth goal of the game off an assist from Othmann.

It was Othmann's third assist of the game, and his fourth and final point of the two-game showcase. Perreault tallied an empty-net goal to secure a 5-2 victory, his second overall point of the game.

In total, both Othmann and Morrow scored a goal and added three assists. Perreault, Laba, Chmelar, and Dylan Roobroeck finished with a goal and an assist. The remaining points include goals from Dorrington and Raoul Boilard, and assists from Evan Passmore, Artem Gonchar, and Bryce McConnell-Barker.
The Rangers' rookie camp participants are off today, and they return to the ice for practice on Monday, September 15th at 12:15 p.m. The final day of camp starts on Tuesday, September 16th at 11am.
