The Rangers' newly released November calendar features an incredibly rare luxury that Mike Sullivan's squad will desperately need—because the gauntlet waiting for them the second it ends is flat-out ridiculous.

The NHL has released the full schedule for the 2026-27 NHL season, and each team and their fans now has a chance to get excited for the upcoming season by taking a look at the 84-game slate per team. The New York Rangers have an interesting schedule to start the season, and the month of November will present the team a challenge, but also an opportunity for a new group to grow together.

November schedule features healthy dose of travel

New York has 13 games on the docket in the month of November, and this comes on the heels of a September and October that will see them play 14 games. Of the 13 games in November, six are on the road. The Blueshirts will end a four-game homestand on November 5th against the Philadelphia Flyers, and then they hit the road for a Pacific Northwest and Canadian trip.

On November 7th the Blueshirts play a 2:00 pm matinee in Seattle, and then travel to see the Edmonton Oilers on Monday, November 9th. The Blueshirts are in Calgary on Wednesday, November 11th, and they end the road trip in Vancouver on Friday the 13th.

It also features an interesting twist

New York returns to Madison Square Garden from their road trip on November 16th to take on the Montreal Canadiens, and won't return to action again until 1:00 pm on November 22nd vs. the Carolina Hurricanes. It is an interesting quirk in the schedule, and a welcome one considering the travel they have to start the month, but that also results in a hectic end to the month.

To that point, it will be an interesting holiday season for the Rangers as they are in Buffalo on Wednesday, November 25th, off on Thanksgiving, and then will head back on the road to Chicago for a 4:30 pm showdown on Black Friday. The early start time is because New York is in action again the next day against Calgary, off on Sunday, and they end the month with another home tilt against the Hurricanes on Monday the 30th.

When you add everything up, after the Rangers return to action from their break, they will play five games in 9 days, including two road games in which they have a home game which is the second game of a back-to-back, and then one day off before ending the month at home.

This schedule will put the Rangers to the test early, and it will be interesting to see how they respond. There are other quirks about this schedule and key matchups to look out for, and stay tuned for some stories to come following today's news.
