Surprising depth winger earns top marks in his final Rangers report card evaluation

A true bargain at $1.5 million. We hand out a well-deserved report card grade to Taylor Raddysh after a surprisingly efficient debut season on Broadway.

The New York Rangers had a number of new faces last season, in hopes of erasing the horrid 2024-25 campaign. The 2025-26 season was not one to remember either, but it did have its moments from a select few players.

One of those players is Taylor Raddysh, who joined the Rangers just prior to the season. He signed a two-year deal, and his first season actually went pretty well.

Let's go ahead and give him a proper grade for his work.

Expectations

Raddysh has bounced around the NHL a bit since being selected with the 58th pick of the 2018 NHL Draft by Tampa Bay. He was then moved to Chicago, and then onto Washington and the finally to the Blueshirts.

He was brought in for some help on the wing, and to provide depth so a younger group of forwards like Gabe Perreault and Jaroslav Chmelař can develop a bit more.

Performance

Raddysh averaged a little over 11 minutes a night, but made the absolute most of it. With nine goals and 10 assists on the season, he matched Norris Trophy winning defenseman Adam Fox with the highest +/- on this team with a 5. The stat to be mindful of is his shooting percentage (17%), but he does have another season under his belt in which he shot 15.5% and finished with 20 goals in 78 games.

Raddysh was smart with the puck, settled into this team nicely, and set himself up to have a solid second go-around with the Rangers next season. He was streaky at times, but that comes with the territory of being a tertiary depth signing.

Grade: B+

Where do they go from here?

From here, the future involves the same kind of role for him. With Conor Sheary as someone who could be on the outside looking in, Raddysh can take over as the veteran depth winger, who can allow the younger players to grow and develop. There is some room for Raddysh, at 28 to really break out next season. There's also the possibility that a contender looks to bring him on, and the Rangers continue to rotate their youth. The options are wide open.

If he builds off of this 2025-26 run in 2026-27, Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury could look into retaining a solid piece to this team's future, but that's a conversation for another day.
