In a season full of ups and downs, the New York Rangers suffered yet another low on Saturday afternoon. Against the Ottawa Senators — who entered the day tied with New York for the second Eastern Conference wildcard spot — the Rangers squandered a 3-1 third period lead and lost in overtime 4-3.

The Rangers have little time to dread on the loss, as on Sunday night, they face another wild card contender in the Columbus Blue Jackets (30-24-8) at Madison Square Garden. It is yet another opportunity to get a huge two points against another team vying for playoff position.

Here's three Rangers to watch in Sunday night's pivotal matchup.

1. Chris Kreider

Kreider returned from the injured reserve on Saturday, playing his first game since February 22. In his first game action, Kreider posted a -2 rating.

It was rumored that the longest-tenured Ranger was going to be traded at the NHL trade deadline, and while a move might be coming in the summer, No. 20 remains on the Blueshirts for now. Kreider still has the potential to make a major impact down the stretch.

The 33-year-old has not had a good season: he only has 21 points (17 goals, four assists) in 49 games. But, New York needs him if they are going to go on a run.

2. K'Andre Miller

Up until his dreadful turnover that led to Brady Tkachuk's game-winning goal, K'Andre Miller played a strong game yesterday. He was in the center of a lot of strong defensive plays and used his length well.

For Miller, it's always been about limiting the risky plays and not making mistakes. If he is able to do this, he'll be a part of the Rangers future plans. But, it's easier said than done for the young defenseman.

3. Jonathan Quick

Quick will get the start tonight against Columbus, his last start coming a week ago against the Nashville Predators when he posted a 34-save shutout. The 39-year-old has won his last three starts

Sunday night against a Columbus team that can score, Quick is going to need to make some big saves. Last time the Rangers played the Blue Jackets, he stopped 25 shots in a 4-3 win.

Once again, the Rangers will need to rely on goaltending to give them an advantage.
