After losing to the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night, New York Rangers return to action tonight, starting a three-game homestand at Madison Square Garden. Their first opponent is the Ottawa Senators.
The Senators are off to a decent start - through nine games they have a record of 5-4-0. Their offense has been clicking, scoring at least four goals in five straight games.
Here's three Rangers to watch as they return to Madison Square Garden.
1. K'Andre Miller
Miller had a rough outing against Washington, putting up a -2 rating as all of New York had a poor defensive night. Though, Miller, paired with Adam Fox, has been fine to start the season. He has been a top-four defensemen for New York for over three seasons now and will be counted on more and more as the season goes on.
What Miller needs is more offense - he only has two points through nine games - but that will come over time.
2. Igor Shesterkin
The Senators' offense is clicking at all levels right now, scoring at least four goals in five straight games. In their last game against the St. Louis Blues, Ottawa scored eight.
This is where Shesterkin comes in - like every given night, he'll be tested, and he'll be counted on to make saves against this Ottawa team.
Shesterkin gave up four goals against Washington and is looking to bounce back.
3. Artemi Panarin
Panarin had his first scoreless game of the season Tuesday night against Washington, but is still off to a stellar start. He's tied for ninth in the league in points through nine games, and this number should go up.
Look for Panarin to get back on the scoresheet tonight after one of his worst performances in the early season.
