Wednesday has all but come and went, and for now Chris Kreider remains a member of the New York Rangers. But that could change very shortly as both sides have agreed to the framework of a trade, but Kreider is conducting his due diligence before officially signing off on the trade.
I'm told that Kreider's camp had informed Drury he would be amenable to going to Anaheim before negotiations began.

After being informed last night of the prospective deal, Kreider is now processing it all and going through his due diligence before he signs off on it.
There is…
The process is ongoing, but it's been described as a positive process that was described by someone in Anaheim as a "fait accompli." With that said, what do we currently know about the rumored trade at this point which got everyone buzzing on Tuesday?
The trade as currently constructed would be highlighted by the Rangers receiving Carey Terrance from the Anaheim Ducks.
Sounds like there were positive interaction(s) today between #NHLDucks and Chris Kreider, with permission of course from #NYR.

Not expecting any hiccups, process ongoing. In addition to Terrance, believe there is also a mid-round pick swap involved as part of the proposed deal.
Terrance is a 20-year-old center who was drafted in the second round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. He stands 6'1" and weighs 187 pounds and was born in Akwesasne, NY, which is 380 miles away from Madison Square Garden. Akwesasne is a Mohawk Nation territory that straddles the intersection of the US and Canada, and Terrance hopes to one day represent Mohawk Nation in the NHL.
He has spent 230 games in the OHL with the Erie Otters, and in that span has scored 89 goals and added 73 assists for 162 points (0.70 points per game). This season he finished with a line of 20-19-39 in 45 games played.
He also represented Team USA at World Juniors, and tallied 2 goals in 7 games played.
Here's how EliteProspects described Terrance prior to being drafted in their annual draft guide.
"Terrance gets his chances two ways: Solo drives off the rush and give-and-goes. For the former, he dekes through opponents, burns them down the outside with speed, and then skates through their hands to his way to the net. For the latter, he takes the middle and passes wide before turning on the afterburners, beating defenders to the net for the return feed. Even if the puck never arrives, he pushes back defenders to create lanes elsewhere."EliteProspects 2023 NHL Draft Guide
The Rangers as an organization could use some center depth in the pipeline, and Terrance would be another interesting option to have in the system. The real prize of this deal is the $6.5 million in cap space the Rangers would be freeing up, but Terrance is a prospect with some potential and upside.
The expectation is this deal could be completed on Thursday, but stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
