When the New York Rangers will play on national TV this season

The NHL has released its national broadcast schedule, and Rangers fans now know exactly when they can watch their team on the big stage.

The start of the 2025-26 National Hockey League season is quickly approaching, and today both ESPN and TNT Sports released the broadcasting schedule of games that will air nationally. The New York Rangers, despite coming off a very disappointing 2024-25 season in which they missed the playofffs just a year after winning the Presidents' Trophy, are featured several times.

Rangers vs. Penguins - October 7, 2025 (ESPN)

The Blueshirts' first national TV appearance this season is on opening night. The Rangers will kick things off at Madison Square Garden vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins on ESPN at 8:00 pm as the second game of the network's opening night triple header. The Rangers went 3-1 against Pittsburgh last season.

Rangers vs. Hurricanes - November 4, 2025 (TNT)

The Rangers' first appearance this season on TNT is Tuesday, November 4th, and it will be the first Tuesday night slate of the year. They will take on the Carolina Hurricanes at 7:00 pm in the first game of a double header for the network that evening. Carolina swept the season series 4-0 in 2024-25.

Rangers vs. Lightning - November 12, 2025 (TNT)

They will appear on the network again just over a week later on Wednesday, November 12th against the Tampa Bay Lightning, again for a 7:00 pm start to kick the programing off that evening for the network. Tampa took the season series 2-1 last season.

Rangers at Bruins - November 28, 2025 (TNT)

Their next appearance is a significant one, and comes on November 28th. On that day the Rangers will once again travel to Boston to take on the Bruins for a Black Friday matinee at 1:00 pm live from TD Garden. New York won two of the three games against Boston in 2024-25.

Rangers at Blackhawks - December 10, 2025 (TNT)

The Rangers will remain on the road for their fourth appearance, a 7:30 pm start in Chicago on Wednesday, December 10 against the Blackhawks. The Rangers and Blackhawks each one a game during last year's season series.

2026 Discover NHL Winter Classic: Rangers at Panthers - January 2, 2026 (TNT)

The fifth appearance on TNT for the Rangers will be their biggest of that slate, and that will be at 8:00 pm on Friday, January 2, 2026. That will be for the 2026 Discover NHL Winter Classic, and the Rangers will take on the two-time defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers at LoanDepot Park in Miami. The Panthers won two out of three against the Rangers last year.

Rangers vs. Bruins - January 10, 2026 (ABC)

The Blueshirts will make their season debut on ABC for a Saturday afternoon matinee contest at MSG vs. the Bruins, the second time the two sides will faceoff on national TV for the 2025-26 season.

Rangers at Islanders - January 28, 2026 (TNT)

New York's sixth appearance on TNT comes later in the month on Wednesday, January 28th, and it will feature them on the road at UBS Arena in Belmont to take on the New York Islanders at 7:30 pm. The Blueshirts outscored the Islanders 23-5 while winning all four games played against them in 2024-25.

Rangers at Penguins - January 31, 2026 (ABC)

The Blueshirts will make their final national TV appearance before the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics on Saturday, January 31, and they head to the Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins at 3:30 PM in yet another national TV game against Mike Sullivan's former club.

Rangers vs. Flyers - February 26, 2026 (ESPN)

The Rangers return to ESPN on Thursday, February 26 to reignite their rivalry with the Broad Street Bullies. This game against the Flyers kicks off at 8:00 pm. Philadelphia won two of the three games played last season.

Rangers vs. Penguins - February 28, 2026 (ABC)

Another national TV game, another Rangers and Penguins matchup. This time the two sides will once again faceoff at MSG, and it is scheduled to get underway at 12:30 PM for a Saturday matinee on ABC.

Rangers at Devils - March 7, 2026 (ABC)

The Rangers will once again be featured on ABC for a Saturday afternoon game, and this one will be a 3PM start against the New Jersey Devils. The Devils won three of the four games last season, and outscored New York 16 to 4.

Rangers vs. Devils - March 18, 2026 (TNT)

On Wednesday, March 18 the two sides return to action against each other at Madison Square for a 7:30 pm start.

Rangers at Maple Leafs - March 25, 2026 (TNT)

The Blueshirts final regular season appearance on TNT will come on Wednesday, March 25, also at 7:30 pm, against the Maple Leafs in Toronto. Toronto took two of three last season, and outscored the Rangers 9-8.

Rangers vs. Red Wings - April 4, 2026 (ABC)

The Rangers' last regular season appearance on ABC will be a classic Original Six matchup against the Detroit Red Wings, and the Saturday afternoon affair will begin at 12:30 PM. The Blueshirts swept the Red Wings 3-0 last year, and outscored them 13-3.

Rangers vs. Capitals - April 5, 2026 (ESPN)

The Blueshirts' final regular season appearance on national TV comes just a day after they appear on ABC. This Sunday evening contest will be against the Washington Capitals and features a 7:00 PM start time. The Capitals bested the Blueshirts in all three games last season, and outscored them 15-9.
