Which New York Ranger would do the best on the Tonight Show?

On Monday, Team USA and Florida Panther Matthew Tkachuk appeared on 'The Tonight Show' to talk 4 Nations Face-Off, the Olympics and the Panthers' Stanley Cup. So this bigs the question — if a New York Ranger was to appear on the show, who'd do the best?

The 4 Nations Face-Off tournament did a lot to grow the game of hockey. It reached 10.7 million Canadians on Sportsnet and set an ESPN hockey viewership record in the United States. As such, forward Matthew Tkachuk appeared onThe Tonight Show on Monday evening.

Tkachuk joined host Jimmy Fallon on the late-night broadcast to talk about the 4 Nations tournament, the Olympics and the Panthers' Stanley Cup victory. Fresh off representing the United States at the 4 Nations Face-off, Tkachuk chatted with Fallon on the late-night institution, talking everything from his hockey family to the playoff-level intensity of the recent tournament where the US lost an overtime heartbreaker to Canada in the final.

Fallon is actually a regular at New York Rangers games given the close proximity his studio is to Madison Square Garden. He sked Tkachuk about the upcoming Olympics in 2026, where NHL players will participate once again for the first time in over a decade.

"Next time I see you, you'll have gold around your neck," Fallon said.

Tkachuk spoke about finally playing competitively on the same team with his brother, Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk at 4 Nations. He also laughed it up about his fatherKeith Tkachuk's emotional reaction to the Panthers winning the Stanley Cup last season.

Given the NHL star's appearance on the show and the fact that Fallon is a regular at Rangers' games, this bigs the question — if a New York Ranger was to appear on the show, who'd do the best?

J.T. Miller

J.T. Miller was traded to the New York Rangers by the Vancouver Canucks for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, and a first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. And he has thrived since becoming a Blueshirt.

Miller ranks first in goals and second in points on the Rangers since joining the club. The Metropolitan Division team was 5-3 during that timeframe and now sits just two points outside the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.

His point totals aren’t empty calorie stats. Since arriving on his new team, Miller ranks first among forwards in Corsi, second in expected goals share, and first among forwards in on-ice goals for. The Rangers are putting up strong five-on-five results with him on the ice.

Like Tkachuk, Miller was also a member of Team USA for the 4 Nations Face-Off.

More than 10 million people across North America tuned in for Team USA vs Canada in round-robin play when Miller dropped the gloves.

All of these factors make Miller a hot desire on the talk show circuit as a NHL player. Plus, he's known for being competitive, intense, and fiery on the ice. He's also known for being loud and proud — making him a perfect could-be guest for Fallon.
