There is a long history of players swapping between Anaheim and the New York Rangers teams, and a couple of them will be interesting. As always, Ryan Strome and Frank Vatrano will face their old team for the Ducks, but the interesting part isn't those two.
It'll be the first time the Blueshirts have seen Jacob Trouba since the deal that took him to Anaheim. It'll also be the first time Urho Vaakanainen returns to the Honda Center. The Rangers have a leg up record wise, boasting an overall 34-32-6 slate so far compared to the Ducks' 31-32-8.
All of this aside, Troy Terry is obviously the opposing team's player to watch ahead of the March 28th matchup.
Troy Terry
Terry is currently the team-leader for Anaheim with 51 points across 19 goals and 32 assists.
Terry, a Denver, Colorado native and a fifth-round pick (No. 148) in the 2015 NHL Draft, made his NHL debut with the Anaheim Ducks on March 27, 2018, after a decorated amateur career that included three seasons at the University of Denver.
During his freshman and sophomore season at Denver, Terry worked with the Pioneer's head strength and conditioning coach to be more of an impactful player on the ice. He changed his diet and increased his weight training to become "a dominant player every shift" as a junior
The right wing's 16-game point streak (12 goals, 10 assists) achieved during the 2021-22 season (Oct. 18 to Nov. 18) made him the youngest player (24 years, 67 days) in Ducks history with a run of at least 15 games.
He starred with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, and had five points (three goals, two assists) to help the United States win the 2015 IIHF World Under-18 Championship.
Standing at 6'1" and weighing 175 pounds, Terry has a rich history with the sport of hockey. He started playing hockey at four years old and was skating with an older age group by the age of six.
