For the first time since the conclusion of the 4 Nations Face-Off, New York Rangers hockey is back.
The Rangers had six players returning from the Four Nations, including four Americans who played in the Thursday championship game. But now that regular NHL play has resumed, New York only has 27 games remaining. Every game counts now more than ever because the Rangers are actually in contention for a Wild Card spot.
The Blueshirts resume play with a back-to-back, starting on Saturday afternoon against the Buffalo Sabres. Right after, they travel to Pittsburgh to play the PenguIns, who defeated the Rangers 3-2 on Feb. 7th. Focusing back to Buffalo, the fellow-New York franchise has plenty of talent on its roster.
While Jack Quinn isn't the most flashy player on the Buffalo roster, but he is considered to be one of the Sabres' players to watch ahead of the Feb. 22 matchup.
Jack Quinn
23-year-old Quinn made his NHL debut Jan. 11, 2022. No. 22 scored his first NHL goal shortly after in a 5-4 loss to the Dallas Stars on Jan. 20. The right wing is among the top 10 producers on the Sabres.
Quinn has the tenth-most points on Buffalo with 20. Nine of these are goals and 11 are assists. The Ottawa, Ontario native has played in 47 games so far during the 2024-25 season.
Prior to joining the league, he scored 52 goals in 62 games for Ottawa in the Ontario Hockey League during the 2019-20 season. This was enough to convince the Buffalo Sabres that Quinn was the player they wanted to select in the first round of the 2020 NHL Draft. They selected the 6-foot right wing with the No. 8 pick on Oct. 6, 2020 and signed him to an entry-level contract less than six weeks later.
Standing at 6'1" and weighing 185 pounds, Quinn is a solid up-and-coming player who is a player to watch for now and the future.
