At 6'4", Adam Huska is taller than your average goaltender, and he used that size to the best of his advantage during a recent goalie fight that has hockey fans buzzing. The former New York Rangers prospect, selected in the seventh round of the 2015 NHL Draft, is now playing for Admiral Vladivostok in the Kontinental Hockey League.

The Main Event

Huska skated to center ice and drop the gloves to take on Andrei Mishurov, and the former Blueshirts prospect held his own. It was awkward, like most goalie fights are, but quite entertaining. Most goalie "fights" in recent memory involve a lot of clutching, grabbing, pushing, and other things that look more tough than they actual are, but in this case both netminder got their fists flying. It was no Dan Cloutier vs. Tommy Salo, but still a goalie fight nonetheless.

Huska had short stint with Rangers

This is the third season for Huska in the KHL, and he's played there after being unable to make it at the NHL level. He joined the Rangers for one game and allowed seven goals on 32 shots back on December 8, 2021 against the Colorado Avalanche. It was a one and done deal for Huska, and it was a true baptism by fire.

Huska also spent 79 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack across four seasons, and there he went 31-30-18 with a 2.93 goals against average and a .896 save percentage. Prior to that, Huska spent 69 games in the NCAA with UConn where he went 20-38-8 with a 2.90 goals against average, and a .908 save percentage.

As of this writing, Huska has a career record of 36-21-4 during his three seasons in the KHL, and he's also posted a 2.49 goals against average and .915 save percentage. When you compare that to his stops elsewhere, it's clear he doing a lot better job catching pucks and shutting teams down. Little did he know that on this particular day he'd be in the position of catching hands as well.
