The New York Rangers meet the Minnesota Wild at Madison Square Garden. The Rangers won the last time the two teams met. Will they be able to keep the winning streak against the Wild? Every game counts for the Rangers, so they need to win this game.

The Rangers return home for a countdown to the end of the regular season. They play the Wild on April 2 at 7:00 p.m. EST. The opposing team looks secure with a playoff spot. The Wild are sitting at 88 points in the Western Division. The Blueshirts are no longer in a wildcard spot; they keep jumping back into the wildcard spot but cannot hold the position. However, the Rangers are tied with the Columbus Blue Jackets with 77 points and two points behind the Montréal Canadiens. There are only eight more games of the regular season. Can the Rangers own a wildcard spot with confidence?

Every game counts for the Rangers. These wins are crucial in determining if they can get to the playoffs. The Rangers just finished their California road trip and are coming off a needed win against the San Jose Sharks. The Wild are coming off a loss to the New Jersey Devils. Hopefully, the Rangers will ride the winning energy into their next game. An advantage awaits the Rangers with it being a home game. Fans will scream, “Let’s go, Rangers!” and optimistic fans will be ready to sing the goal song. The enthusiasm for the team should be there and ready to bag a win.

One of the Ranger’s players has been a scoring machine lately. His name is Artemi Panarin. This mighty left wing is ranked first in the team's goals, points, and power-play goals. With his performance excelling the others, Panarin will most likely slam the puck in the opponent's net. J.T. Miller has also shown good strength and has been an excellent addition to the roster. He is tied for assists on the team and is second in scoring goals. The Rangers have a good chance of keeping the game competitive with these principal players.

An exciting new player enters the Rangers roster, making his debut on the NHL ice. Gabe Perreault will bring new, invigorating passion to the team. Perreault, a 19-year-old, will get the Rangers’ favorite veterans to wake up and play a good game. They are all on the same team, but Perreault will have to prove to the team that he belongs there.

This new addition and the team have the skill and potential to show what they got to the Wild, to prove to everyone they are a playoff-worthy team. If the Rangers are to get that wildcard spot and hold it, they would be matched against the Washington Capitals, and that would be some intense hockey. The Blueshirts just have to get the place; Ranger fans are waiting.
