As the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off comes to a close, National Hockey League fans to their attention back to their favorite NHL franchise rosters. For the New York Rangers, this comes with updates such as defenseman Zac Jones being assigned to the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate.

Defenseman Matthew Robertson has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack — the previously mentioned AHL affiliate. Goaltender Dylan Garand was also assigned to the Wolf Pack alongside the loan of Jones on a conditioning stint. New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury made the announcement on Thursday prior to the start of Team USA's play against Canada in the 4 Nations' final.

Garand, 22, has posted a record of 13-7-5 with the Wolf Pack in 25 appearances this season. The third-year netminder has amassed a .914 save percentage, 2.73 goals-against average, and three shutouts. Earlier this February he was named to the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic. Garand was selected in the fourth round, 103rd overall, by the Rangers in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Robertson was selected in the second round, 49th overall, of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Rangers. The native of Edmonton, AB, has scored 73 career points (11 goals, 62 assists) in 237 AHL games, all with the Wolf Pack. At 23-years-old, Robertson has recorded 18 points (one goal, 17 assists) in 47 games with the Wolf Pack this season. His 17 assists are only one shy from his career-high of 18, set during the 2022-23 campaign.

Though, Jones is the main takeaway from these moves. He has appeared in 28 games with the Rangers this season, recording eight points. However, a conditioning stint is for a maximum of 14 days and also requires player approval. A player on a stint will keep all of his NHL benefits including salary in case of a two-way contract and no waivers are required.

This will be the first time Jones — only 24-years-old — has skated with Hartford since the 2022-23 campaign.
