Welcome back, New York Rangers fans.
In this Sunday edition, we highlight the lighter side of the man known as the King, Henrik Lundqvist. You may know him as Henrik the Great, or the Savior, or well, just plain filthy with his countless saves.
But, did you know Lundqvist as the Joker?
Well, if you were asleep yesterday on social media, you missed a grand old time with one of New York’s finest!

Yesterday, a video had been floating around YouTube yesterday, surrounding a pressing matter with Lundqvist. In the video, what appears to be a formal press conference was held, with all the flash bulbs you would expect to be present at such a scene.
The tone of the event took on a serious approach. In walked the King, acknowledging the assembled press and took his position behind the dozens of microphones that were prepositioned on the table.
With his “suave” hairstyle and charming looks that could even make a grown man cry in jealousy, he spoke as everyone hung on his every word.
What was shocking was what how he started his press conference with. Lundqvist recalls his 10-sseason playing career and the recent rumblings of his performance on the ice. It was as if he were going to mention the unthinkable to his fans: retirement.
That’s when the press conference took a dramatic turn.
Here’s the video in question:
Yes, he said it, “I USE HEAD & SHOULDERS.”
Say what?!?!?!?! He baits the fanbase with a possible scare, only to be hoodwinked by a shampoo commercial?
Well, you sir, have fallen into the category of athlete/comedian, and a good one at that.

New York Rangers
You join the likes of Eli and Peyton Manning, who have been tearing it up on the entertainment front, with their appearances on Direct TV commercials and Saturday Night Live.
A few of the highlights is the press’ reaction to his announcement of which hair product he uses. It’s shock and awe, to say the least.
But, could it be that the answer to a man’s prayer having fine, good looking hair like the King is a product you can find in Walmart, Piggly Wiggly, Walgreens, or any major retail store?
The shampoo video is so bold, that he actually fields questions trying to limit them to the topic of his hair announcement.
After answering three questions, Lundqvist, ever the gracious host, invites the assemebled reporters to take a complimentary bag of Head and Shoulders with them on their way out.
All of this with a straight face!
It was actually good to see that side of Lundqvist. We know how hard he works at his craft, practicing in his old ice rink back in Are, Sweden, demonstrating his commitment to being one of the best goalies in the NHL. It’s hasn’t been by accident he has seen success both in his native homeland and in New York.
Here’s another piece of his comedic work at play. It was outtakes from his appearance on the Rangerstown commercials:
Alright, gotta wrap this up. Have to goto Sam’s Club and get a case of Head and Shoulders, at wholesale!
We’ll see you all tomorrow.
