The Rangers scheduled to invade West Point- RECORDONLINE.COM

No, it’s not the Army’s elite infantry unit making an appearance in front of the cadets of the United States Military Academy.

However, it might be the next best thing (aside from the Marines taking over the campus).

The Rangers hockey club will make an appearance on campus, and hold a public workout for all to see. It will mark the first time in eight years, the team has skated at the Army’s Military Academy.

Army hockey head coach Bill Riley had this to say of the Blueshirts appearance:

"We are extremely honored to welcome the Rangers back to West Point for the third time…While it’s an exciting time for our program and our fans, it’s an opportunity for the Rangers to be around special young men and women here at West Point, only furthering their appreciation for those serving in our armed forces. We are hoping that this experience continues to build team chemistry as these teams that choose to come to West Point before jumping into the season"

As part of their visit, the Rangers will eat at the campus’ dining hall either a late lunch or dinner. From there, they will travel to Chicago for their season opener against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks.

Those fans, who are current or former military, know that the food can be suspect at times. Let’s just hope the boys get a good, healthy meal before heading out!

Attention Star Wars fans, everyone flock to Milwaukee to be a Stormtrooper- THEHOCKEYNEWS.COM

If you are a Star Wars fan in need of an idea for December’s long-awaited premier of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie, you may have fond your calling.

It was announced yesterday by the Milwaukee Admirals, the AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators, will be unveiling a commerative themed jersey, based on the famous movie.

In late November, the team will be wearing Stormtrooper graphics when they take the ice. The jerseys will be later aucitioned off for charity.

It is actually a beaut’ of a jersey, and I am not being bias cause I’m a big fan of the franchise, except Episodes 1-3.

Still think Jar-Jar Binks is the worst character of them all.

Hopefully, the team doesn’t shoot like the famous Empire soldier, and actually hits something when they shoot.

And that’s the news for today. The boys will be back at it Thursday night when they travel to Boston to battle the Bruins in an Original Six preseason matchup. Puck drop will be after 7:00 pm EST.

Talk to you later!
