It will be the last opportunity for some to show what they have, and impress Alain Vigneault‘s coaching staff.
Before the game, we wanted to get you warmed up with news we wanted to share:
Interviews with the current Rangers captain- NHL.COM
We all know about Ryan McDonagh‘s struggles last year, in his role as the team captain. It took some adjusting, and new responsibilities that accompany his position.
But with a year under his belt in his leadership role, McDonagh seems to be more comfortable, going through the experiences expected by such a prestigious position on one of the NHL’s famous hockey franchises.
In NHL.com’s Five Question series, they sat down with the Rangers captain and asked him his thoughst of his role:
"I just learned a little more about how to carry myself and not put too much pressure on myself. Not think so much about the big picture, so to speak. It’s about taking it day by day, focusing on having fun, enjoying it, making sure I’m prepared and making sure the guys are as prepared as they can be too"
Being the face of a franchise is hard work, and sometimes a player could get lost in everything else and neglect the one thing that got them into the position to start with: talent.
Then again, Henrik Lundqvist has had a brilliant career, while being the face of the Rangers team, even though he is not able to hold the captaincy title officially”. If McDonagh ever needed advice about pressure, I am sure he could down a couple of stalls and talk with the King.

Vegas, Quebec City take a step closer to realizing their expansion dreams- SI.COM
The two cities that started the expansion process in the summer, are one more step closer to realizing their dreams of hosting an NHL franchise.
Yesterday, it was reported that both Las Vegas and Quebec City mad it to the third stage of the NHL expansion process. Both cities have either have an arena in place, or in the process of completing one.
On Monday evening, Quebec City hosted the Montreal Canadiens and Pittsburgh Penguins at the Videotron Centre.
(Really, Videotron? Hope they get another name like RBC, Royal Bank of Canada or something more appealing)
According to Allan Muir, the two cities enter the process where the nuts and bolts of the financial side of the expansion will be detailed:
"The pitches will boil down the specifics of each group’s business plans, from how they will pay the expected $500 million expansion fee to the ways they’ll manage and exploit possible revenue streams"
Wednesday could reveal if either city was able to impress the NHL Executive Committee. From there, the committee will take the proposal before the NHL’s Noard of Governors and the fate will be put to a vote. The voting process is not expected till December.
So we all play the waiting game again!
And that’s a wrap! We will talk to you all tomorrow!
