Ranger fans are simply the best in the league.
We are passionate about our team and remain faithful despite what others may say. To be a true New York Rangers fan, you have to be strong in heart and steadfast in mind.
In order to fully understand why Rangers fans are the best, we first need to look at the basics. What does it truly mean to be a fan? We all know what it means, right? Or do we?
The following is a list of essential items needed to be a true fan.
Definitions:
FAN
: an enthusiastic devotee (as of a sport or a performing art) usually as a spectator.
TEAM
: a cooperative unit, especially in sports.
: a group of people who compete in a sport, game, etc., against another group.
New York Rangers
: a group of people who work together.
BELIEVE
: be confident about something.
: follow a credo; have faith; be a believer.
FAITH
: to trust.
LOYALTY
: a strong feeling of support or allegiance.
These words (as defined by Merriam Webster’s Dictionary) is what it takes to be a fan of any sports team. The minute you choose your team, you become a fan. Each fan has their own reasonings for picking their team. It could be the team they live closest to or simply born into a family of existing fans. The beauty of it is, the choice is yours. There is no wrong answer.
We purchase clothing and other gear to show our loyalty to our team. Immersing ourselves in all sorts of knowledge including stats, play history and bios just to prove we truly know our team.
However, Rangers fans are a whole new breed among others. We are an elite group that is known as the following.

RANGERS DIE-HARDS
: very determined or loyal; especially very loyal to a set of beliefs and not willing to change those beliefs.
Rangers fans are true to the red, white and blue. From the colors on our jerseys, the Statue of Liberty as our symbol, to the State of New York where they reside. The team screams all American and built off proud tradition. What’s not to love from an original six team that symbolizes the country we live in?
Rangers fans have a belief in standing behind our team in good times and in bad. There is a lot of us too. Just look at this picture from the New York Rangers Twitter during Game Three against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Hundreds of Rangers fans watching the game in Bryant Park to support our boys. This picture alone says it all. Yes, other teams have die-hard fans too but Rangers fans have a passion for their team that is unmatched. It is truly special.
That all being said, now is the time to prove yourself. Remember why we are here and what our job is as die-hard Rangers fans. We need to stand behind our Blueshirts and have faith that they are working as hard as we expect. You can start by sending positive energy to Tampa before they hit the ice for Game Four. The Rangers need us. Now is the time to prove your loyalty and believe in blue.
