It was an incredible year for Derick Brassard, as he put up career-highs in almost every major offensive category, and further cemented his reputation as a big-game player. It is time to look back at the five best goals Brassard had this year for the New York Rangers.
# 5 – Brassard Buries Rebound For Overtime Win
For the second consecutive season, Brassard scored an overtime goal against the Detroit Red Wings. This goal was not as pretty as his breakaway one from last season, but they all count the same, am I right? Brassard got to a rebound as Jonas Gustavsson injured himself on the play, and the Rangers took the game 4-3.

#4 – Brassard versus Corey Crawford (Chicago Blackhawks)
In a highly anticipated matchup between two of the premier teams in the league, Brassard showed up big time, per usual. His overtime slapper against Corey Crawford won the game for Rangers against the Chicago Blackhawks in a fun original-six showdown.

#3 – Brassard versus Marc-Andre Fleury (Pittsburgh Penguins)
It took Brassard only 28 seconds to start the 2015 playoffs with a bang. After a beautiful stretch pass by Dan Girardi, Rick Nash busted in on the left side. Nash fired a slapshot low and on net. Marc-Andre Fleury kicked out a juicy rebound and Brassard buried it home.

# 2 – Brassard versus Braden Holtby (Washington Capitals)
There are some players who just jump to another level when the lights are shining bright. Brassard happens to be one of those players. The Rangers desperately needed a goal against the Washington Capitals in Game 4 of their epic seven game series. Brassard delivered by roofing a great pass from Martin St. Louis top shelf over Braden Holtby‘s shoulder on a partial breakaway.

# 1 – Brassard versus Ben Bishop (Tampa Bay Lightning)
It was like playing with house money. With the Rangers on the brink of elimination on the road against the Tampa Bay Lightning, you knew Brassard and the Rangers weren’t going to go down without a fight. Brassard had five points, including a hat-trick as the Rangers cruised to a 7-3 win. I know its a cop-out, but I’m putting the video of all three goals up because they make me feel like there is still a Game 7 to watch.
