Welcome back! it’s “Hump Day” and one more days closer to the return of New York Rangers Hockey!
Here’s the latest news we wanted to share with you all:
Guess your rating- NHL.COM
Yesterday, the next chapter in Electronic Arts’ hockey franchise was released. NHL 16 made it’s way to stores, and many sports fans, especially those of the hockey variety, are hoping for a better showing than last year’s version. it’s not that it was bad, graphics or skating wise, but the features included in the game were lacking, to put it nicely.
This year’s version is hoping to bring that passion back from their faithful gamers, from the looks of it, they might be on their way. (I just bought my copy after work yesterday, and will let you know my opinion later)
A funny segment was posted yesterday on NHL.com. It features present superstars from the “real” NHL game. Taking a page from the Madden franchise, stars like Sidney Crosby, Claude Giroux, Jonathan Toews, and last year’s cover athlete Patrice Bergeron all took stabs at what their player ratings were.

In case you were curious, on EA’s website they posted the top-rated 50 players in this year’s version. Of that number, only two Rangers made the list. The King, Henrik Lundqvist, comes in at seventh with a rating of 93. Team captain Ryan McDonagh is ranked 41st, with a overall rating of 89.
Missing is fellow teammate Rick Nash. Players like San Jose Sharks Patrick Marleau and Joe Thronton, and Arizona Coyotes goalie Mike Smith made it ahead of him.
Guess somethings can never get fixed, ehh EA? Let the debate commence.

If you are unfamiliar which players saw their way to Broadway for this upcoming season, they are Emerson Etem (Anaheim Ducks), Jarrot Stoll (Los Angeles Kings), Viktor Stalberg (Nashville Predators), and Antti Raanta (Chicago Blackhawks). Together, they bring four Stanley Cup Rings to a seasoned team that is eager for their first!
Only Etem is the odd man out. But he’s hoping, as we all are, that changes this year.
For Stoll, he will be one player looking to redeem himself and correct his image after encountering legal troubles after the end of last season. With a new team and environment, this season is going to be a new beginning.

NHL officially announces partnership with Adidas- NHL.COM
After months of rumored information about the sports brand Adidas taking over as the exclusive provider of hockey jerseys from Reebok, the announcement was made in a press conference with commissioner Gary Bettman.
The seven-year partnership will start next September, where they will be exclusively producing the uniforms for the much-anticipated return of the World Cup of Hockey. From there, they will be the exclusive licensed producer of hockey apparel for the following seven years.
Guess, we shall see what Adidas has up their sleeves, in regards to uniform design: will it maintain the original designs or alter it in some way? Stay tuned!
And that’s it from us today! We will see you here tomorrow for another edition!
Talk to you all soon!
